Question: Is there a way to modify a nintendo ds/gameboy or gameboy color game to make them compatible?

I'd like to know if there's a way to physically modify your gb/ gbc game to make it compatible with a nintendo ds? whether it'll damage the games or not, i just wanna be able to play the gbc games on my ds. i dont want links to roms or programs for roms. i wanna be able to do this with an actual gbc game and put it in a ds. like notch out the game to fit in the gba slot of a ds, will that work?

No. The DS system is different and cannot be converted. You can't modify a GBA to play DS games and the hardware and sorftware are totally different and you can't modify a DS to play GB games because the software isn't in the DS.
