Question: Can someone give me ideas on this assersion violent video games should be bannded?

Why should they be banned? Are violent movies going to be banned? Violent books? How about the news? Is all violent news going to be banned? What about violent sports?

I'm going to agree with the previous commenter.. if you start censoring one thing, you would have to censor all. I really can't think of one logical thing that would defend banning them.

Even if I were ok with media censorship (which I am not), this is absolutely ridiculous. Despite all of the stories on Fox News, and the crazed rantings of overprotective parents, violent videogames have ABSOLUTELY NO ILL EFFECT ON SOCIETY. I cannot stress that enough. Even if our government were cool with banning perfectly legal entertainment because they believed it to be harmful, no educated person can actually show that there is any harm whatsoever. This is a non-issue and people need to stop trying to make it out to be something important.
