Question: How is a video game disk read?

Im doing a project on video game like how they are made who anyways i cant find anything about how its read just questions about how to fix scratched disks plz help

There are like little dints all the way around the disk where the information is imprinted and it's read by a laser. it works the same for dvd's and cds. i did about it in it but we didnt get told much.

Same way a DVD or CD is read. A plastic disk gets little grooves put into it in a particular pattern, then a sheet of foil is laid on the backside of it. (that's where the label is placed.) Then, the player shoots a little laser and it reflects the pattern of the grooves, thus playing the disk. c:

With a LAZERRRRRRRRRRRR BEAM :) but ya everything is 1's and 0's for example in binary the number 666 is 1010011010 :D So just imagine like a billion 1's and 0's
