Question: Why is xbox 360 so much more popular than ps3?

Because they make a lot more games for the 360 than the ps3. why that is, however, is a good question, because personally i like the ps3 a lot better. with the 360 u have to subscribe to have internet, so i've heard, but for the ps3 u dont. and u can play ppl online, download games or game demos, browse the internet, watch movies, rent movies, buy movies, and much more! i prefer it, but unfortunately like i said they just dont make as many games for it.

Maybe it's the type of games available on the XBox 360? I'm not sure to be honest. I have played both but personally own a PS3. I love it because I can play Bluray movies and also the games I enjoy (Resident Evil, God of War...) are all available on that system so it works for me. Could also be a controller preference..? Try playing them at a friend's house or at Best Buy and see which you prefer before buying one. Also, look online at the game selections for each which may help you make your decision.

Xbox is wayyyy cheaper but I like PS3 wayyy better.

It's simple. Xbox 360 has been out a year longer so it's obvious more have been bought. Each console has there ups and downs. In my opinion ps3 is better then xbox for a few reasons. I like more ps3 games, the only xbox games I have is halo 3, and the first guitar hero's because i couldn't find them for ps3. Ps3's online is free and on dedicated servers so if a person loses connection it doesn't take 5 minutes for a new host. Xbox 360 has better customer support for a cost of $60 a year that also allows you to play games online. The ps3 costs more then an Xbox 360 but after 2 years of xbox gold you'll have spent more then what the ps3 costs. If you can just get both. lol.

Well its kinda hard to say the 360 is better than the ps3 but i think the xbox 360 is more popular is because of the games because you can't get bioshock, modern warfare 2 and more stuff that you just can't get on the ps3

Most likely because the 360 offers a better online and social gaming experience, also people argue that the 360 has better exclusive titles. I personally own both and think they're great in their own ways, also the ps3 exclusive titles are really underrated. As far as a better gaming experience, it depends on whether your into online focused games or single player/ offline games. Which ever one you pick it will turn out pretty good. Good Luck

Some of the good reasons why the xbox 360 is popular:- 1 year headstart over the competition PS3. Better games at launch. Better online play at launch. Halo 3 That's it really... Some of the real reasons why the xbox is popular:- Red Ring of Death. 20 % of the consoles get affected by it, so that has to be popular... Extremely costly accessories...$150 for 120 GB HDD.....haha I laugh at jokes like that. What do mean so much more popular? The xbox 360 has sold 38 million consoles while the PS3 has sold 33 million. That's not much of a gap considering the Xbox 360 came out a year before the PS3. And there sales every month are nearly even. If you want to talk about why one system is so much more popular than other ones how about why is the wii so popular since it has sold about 68 million consoles and outsells both PS3 and Xbox every month.

Buy a playstation 3 because i had both of them and i sold my xbox 360 because i was very bad pay money for everything and gaming experience boring.x box is so popular because they started the seventh genration gaming ,55% xbox have failed according to gamestop ,it have a wikipedia on technical problem but because it launched before it have more game .well playstation home has best social networking and you can see facebook on your xmb and see other social networking site on web browser i hate 360
